The Rowan Tree Wales: Market Garden Website & Newsletter Integration

The Rowan Tree is a thriving ecological smallholding and market garden in Gower, Wales, run by Bettina and Trevor Davies. Known for their beautiful, home-grown seasonal flowers, they offer wedding flowers, bouquets, subscriptions, farewell flowers, and pick-your-own experiences alongside a calendar of workshops and events.

They initially approached me when they were preparing to be featured on a TV programme and needed a fast turnaround landing page to capture newsletter subscribers and support increased visibility. What began as a quick update soon developed into a wider website transformation to better reflect the vibrancy of their work and simplify their processes.

Project scope:

Web Design

Requirement: Bettina and Trevor needed a website that felt as natural, welcoming, and inspiring as their smallholding itself.

Their goals included:

  • A visually-led website to showcase their constantly evolving flowers and services
  • A structure that was easy for visitors to navigate across weddings, subscriptions, and events
  • Full editing flexibility so Trevor could regularly update images and content
  • A blog and events diary to share seasonal updates and workshops
  • Tailored enquiry forms to reduce back-and-forth communication
  • A delivery map and directions page to simplify logistics after bookings
  • Newsletter integration with MailerLite to grow and nurture their audience
  • And crucially — the ability to move quickly and confidently as their business continues to evolve with the seasons.

Solution: I created a refreshed WordPress website designed to feel calm, organic, and image-led while remaining practical behind the scenes.

Key elements included:

  • A responsive, photography-first design that highlights the beauty of their flowers across all devices
  • Clear service pathways for weddings, bouquets, subscriptions, and workshops
  • A custom blog and events diary, allowing them to share seasonal stories and upcoming experiences
  • Page-specific enquiry forms to help streamline communication and gather relevant details upfront
  • A delivery map and directions page to support event bookings and visitor planning
  • MailerLite newsletter integration to capture subscribers and nurture their growing audience
  • A flexible, easy-edit backend so Trevor can confidently update images, pages, and content as needed

The result was a website that balances storytelling, usability, and practical workflow improvements.
